At Altadena Community Church we do not simply tolerate diversity-we embrace it. We were one of the first churches in Southern California to officially declare itself Open and Affirming to members of all sexual orientations. We have evolved from a congregation that was traditionally Caucasian and middle class to one that now also includes African American, Asian American, and Latino members, members who identify as gay or lesbian, and members of various economic means. Everyone is welcome here!
ACC is proud to say that we participate annually in this festival. Sometimes we have been the only local church to participate in this event. Our homemade cookies are a big hit. We participate, with pride, to demonstrate that all are welcome and that God embraces all!
Our church is disability friendly. We have reserved handicap parking close to the sanctuary, handicap/wheelchair accessible restrooms on both levels of our buildings, and wheelchair spaces among the pews.
The Sanctuary is handicap accessible from the east parking lot. There are no stairs entering the Narthex from the east. To reach the reserved handicap parking spaces in the east parking lot, use the main driveway from Altadena Drive.
The wheelchair spaces among the pews can be reached from either the east or west aisle. The handicap/wheelchair accessible restroom for the Sanctuary is reached by going up the west aisle to the northwest door. Assistance is available when needed.
Participation in communion is encouraged. Please notify the greeter upon entering church if you would like to have the pastor bring communion to you
Church Office and Founders’ Room: The entrances to the church office and Founders’ Room are handicap accessible. From the east patio and walkway there are no stairs.
Heicher Hall: To enter Heicher Hall, handicap access is from the north entry adjacent to the upper parking lot.
